TIA is one of the first companies dealing with the problem of asbestos in Italy. Our first work on the matter date back to 1985. At that time there was no specific regulation, so the instructions provided by the Institute of Occupational Health of the University of Milan and by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency were used for the decontamination of schools in Milan.
Over the last 30 years, we have acquired specific skills for the removal of any Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM). Besides the traditional removal of friable and compact asbestos from industrial premises, civil buildings and decommissioned sites, we have carried out important decontamination campaigns on trains and ships.
We have done thousands of jobs, thanks to our highly-specialised organisation, which allows us to tackle even the most difficult operations that require extensive experience, operational efficiency and low costs. Our 150 direct specialists are our greatest strength, the backbone of our company: a strategic choice which ensures reliability and compliance with time limits.
MAN-MADE VITREOUS FIBRES (MMVF)
In the last few years, the Man-made Vitreous Fibres (MMVF) are the focus of the attention, despite the lack of a national regulation. For extremely dangerous cases, directives dealing with carcinogenic fibres provide for removal methods which are similar to those used to eliminate asbestos. In cases in which hazards to human health are limited, the removal methods are simplified, but still require the support of specialists to remove and dispose of the waste.
