Description of the job
Asbestos decontamination of the Gan Tower in Paris La Defense
The Gan Tower is a 44-storey skyscraper built in 1974 and having a surface of 70,500 m2. This 179 metre-high building is the sixth highest skyscraper in Paris and one of the most famous; it was designed by architects Harrisson & Abramovitz and J.P Bisseuil.
In 2011, this building was refurbished and enlarged up to 250 metres of height
During the works, asbestos residues which were still present on many surfaces were removed. The interventions were carried out on technical systems, metal and flexible sheathings, cables, distribution networks and other asbestos-contaminated materials.
As the area to be treated was wide and time was limited (5 months), a TJV was created to carry out these works.
TIA worked on 10 floors with 50 workers on average.
